Katy ISD to Add New Elementary School

In 2014 Katy residents voted yes on a bond that would help Katy ISD accommodate an extremely high enrollment rate. Katy is growing exponentially and that means more students than ever before.

In August 2017 Katy will be opening it’s 40th elementary school. This is the last school to be built with the 2014 bond money.

    What to Expect

Katy ISD architect and planner, Peter McElwain, has made a plan we’ve seen before in other elementary schools in the district.

The school will have a capacity of 1,030, relieving Wolman and Woodcreek Elementary schools of their overflow.

Plans originally slated the school to open in 2018, but due to high enrollment the plans have been moved up a year. The project is also costing 1.2 million less than originally projected.

The new elementary school will be located in Waller County on Kingsland and Pederson Rd.

With Katy growing this fast now is a great time to make the move to West Houston. If you are looking for a Katy home for sale, don’t hesitate to call See Tim Sell.
