Is Katy ISD teaching our kids to hunt?

Ok, so I must embarrassingly admit that I was totally shocked this weekend when I received my copy of Katy ISD’s Community Education Catalog in the mail. As I flipped through the pages reading about classes like Hunter’s Education, Jewelry Making, Swing Dancing, etc. I thought I was reading about classes available to Katy ISD k-12 students.

What I was in fact reading, was a catalog of courses available to our community. According to Katy ISD, the program is 22 years old and educates over 3000 participants per semester! If you haven’t received your copy, or if you need a new one you can download it here.

There are some very interesting classes available and the topics are very diverse. The icing on the cake is that they are offered by the acclaimed Katy ISD. Take a course on planning for retirement and also perfect your knitting skills. Learn to play an instrument or become a real estate investor. The choices are endless.

I think I’ll start with the swing dancing classes and surprise my wife. What about you? What’s a class you would be interested in taking or a skill you would like to learn? Leave me an answer in the comments below.
