Cypress Master Planned Communities

    Cypress, TX is one of Houston’s greatest suburbs. Cypress is close enough to the city you can be at your favorite downtown hotspot in about thirty minutes, but also features amazing schools and all the perks of being in the suburbs. The area is well established and continuing to grow to this day.

    In Cypress you can find both classic communities as well as brand new master planned communities.

    For those that don’t know the difference between a neighborhood and a master-planned community it’s pretty simple. One is not necessarily better than another, but there are some differences. In a master planned community you’re likely to see a school, walking trails, pools, a community center and other amenities you won’t find in a neighborhood.


    Bridgeland is massive master planned community that is the bridge to the future of Cypress, Texas. As Cinco Ranch was key to Katy’s massive success, Bridgeland will be key for Cypress. Like Cinco Ranch, Bridgeland is truly huge with well over 10,000 acres and plans for over 20,000 homes.

    The community will feature over 60 miles of trails within the community, perfect for bikers and hikers. There are four major resort areas planned (the first is already open) that will include amenities like resort style pools, junior Olympic swimming pools, spray parks, tower slides, huge playgrounds, and tennis courts. Bridgeland homeowners can also enjoy boating and catch and release fishing. Dozens of smaller parks already exist within the community and the developer’s goal is for no home to be more than a quarter of a mile away from a park. Talk about some amenities you don’t see every day!

    Cypress Creek Lakes

    Homes prices in Cypress Creek Lakes range from mid-priced starter homes to almost 6000 square feet golf course homes. There are also a variety of special lots in the community. Cypress Creek Lakes features waterfront lots, golf course lots, to cul-de-sacs lots, and lots on green belts. Home builders within the community are some of the best regarded in Houston. Perry Homes, Ashton Woods, Darling Homes, Newmark Homes, Lennar, and Village Builders are either currently building or have built homes in the community.

    Coles Crossing

    In the 1990’s Coles Crossing became the flagship development in Cypress and one of the top selling master-planned communities in the Houston area. The rise of Coles Crossing led to more business development and even larger master planned communities that would later follow. Despite the much larger communities that followed to many Cypress residents Coles Crossing is still one of the community that made Cypress a financial success.

    Coles Crossing homes range in price from mid-level starter homes to mid-level executive homes. The homes range in size from about 1,700 square feet to around 5,000 square feet. Lot range in style from waterfront lots to green belt lots to large cul-de-sac lots. Homes were built by some of the areas most sought after builders. Most homes were built between 1998 and 2006. Like sister Jefferson Development, Firethorne of Katy, home prices do not run to the extreme low or extreme high. This consistency in pricing contributes to the fact that homes sell fast and for top dollar.

    Towne Lake

    Towne Lake itself is the largest private recreational lake in Houston, allowing its residents opportunities to fish, ski, tube, sail, and more. Amenities include a 5,000 square feet community center, multiple fitness centers, an Olympic style pool, a laguna style pool and an outdoor amphitheater that can seat up to 1,500 residents for concerts, holiday events, and more.

    Towne Lake has big plans and continues to add to it’s impressive list of amenities, with the Towne Lake Boardwalk scheduled to be completed in 2015. The Boardwalk will feature shopping, office space, recreational outlets, and waterfront dining. Remaining true to it’s lakeside living nature, the Boardwalk will feature opportunities for Towne Lake residents to visit via boat, pulling up to docks located right on the boardwalk. This makes Towne Lake homes for sale, even more coveted and unique! In addition, Towne Lake has plans to complete a massive new pool and swimming complex with a lazy river, adults only lap pool, beach style entry pools, and additional recreational and fitness amenities. The final addition will be the marina. Towne Lake residents will be able to house their boats while not in use and have close and easy access to the lake for an evening boat ride or a weekend ski session.
