The appearance of your home is an important thing to consider when you’re getting ready to sell. There are plenty of simple things you can do to make your home look fresh and inviting for potential buyers. Worried about the time commitment and cost? Don’t. These 5 tips to stage your home are quick, easy, and budget friendly!
1. Say Goodbye to Clutter
One of the fastest ways to prepare your home for sale is to clear out the clutter! Clearing out unnecessary furniture will make your rooms appear larger. Narrow down on the knick knacks too. Buyers like to imagine their things in the home when they’re touring. It doesn’t need to be a drastic change, but take a good look at what you really need to hang on to during the showing phase of your sale.
2. Transform a Room
If you have a room that only serves the purpose of storing junk, consider transforming it. Take that sewing machine that’s just laying around and set it on a desk. You’ve just created a sewing room! Or- set up all of that exercise equipment that’s gathering dust. Now you’ve got a workout space! These type of bonus areas can be appealing to potential buyers.
3. Set the Mood With Lighting
The proper lighting can make a home feel warm and inviting. Increase the wattage of your light fixtures and lamps. Aim for 100 watts for every 50 SQ feet and add more lamps to your rooms if necessary.
